Maintaining consistent calcium (410-430 ppm), magnesium (1300-1400 ppm) and other mineral levels, as well as the appropriate alkalinity (7 dKH), in the aquarium system is essential if the ultimate goal of the aquarist is to ensure optimal coral growth. Once the dosage for the particular reef system has been determined, we recommend dosing small amounts (the total dosage divided by the number of times added) of each part of the 3-part calcium supplement throughout the day when the main lights are on. The best way to achieve this is to use a dosing pump.
